The NI-sbRIO Based Real-time Acclerator Event Parse System

  • During physics experiments with the Cryogenic High-density Nuclear Matter Measurement Spectrometer (CSR External-target Experiment, CEE) currently under construction in Lanzhou, a trigger selection system is required to provide multi-mode trigger signals under diverse experimental and testing conditions. The timing of trigger generation in the CEE system is critically dependent on events from the slow extraction of the synchrotron beam. To address this, an event parsing system based on the National Instruments (NI) Single-Board Reconfigurable I/O (sbRIO) platform has been developed. This system parses accelerator events and generates trigger signals with adjustable delays according to particle physics experiment requirements. An upper-level computer monitors the equipment via Ethernet and transmits configuration data downstream to the CEE trigger subsystem. This enables EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System)-based parameter configuration and monitoring, with final trigger signals delivered via TTL logic. System testing verifies that the design fulfills all engineering requirements for the CEE project. The integrated EPICS compatibility and TTL signal support enable straightforward integration into large-scale physics control systems, ensuring adaptability across extensive measurement environments.
