近十年来,随着加速器技术的突飞猛进,加速器质谱技术正在迅速崛起。用加速器质谱技术测量时,所需样品可以少至毫克,待测同位素的丰度比可以低至10~(-12)到10~(-15),可以进行高灵敏度、高精度的相对快速测量。它已广泛用于地球科学、人类学、考古学、天体物理学、核物理学和海洋科学,并且前景光明,在全球的发展相当迅速。本文将讨论它的崛起原因、工作原理、所用装置、优点和局限以及实际应用。
