随着加速器技术的发展,一个重要的“副产物”是同步辐射的应用。15年前,首次从同步加速器上得到了同步辐射,比如西德的DESY,而后又在贮存环上得到了它,比如斯坦福的SPEAR;这种辐射是由于电子在磁场中作曲线运动产生的,有着十分广泛的应用。目前,世界上的同步辐射装置很多,有些国家已把它作为重要的研究手段,如果能了解一下这种机器的建造和运行,目前的研究计划将是很有意义的。
