Abstract:
The External Target Facility (ETF) is an important nuclear physics experimental platform based on the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou's Cooling Storage Ring (HIRFL-CSR). This paper focuses on the control requirements of the slow control devices at the external target experimental terminal and presents the design and implementation of a slow control system. The system is developed based on the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) architecture, incorporating the development of driver programs for slow control devices and the packaging of the Input/Output Controller (IOC). Data acquisition is achieved through the Channel Access (CA) communication protocol, enabling remote monitoring and control. Additionally, the system provides a clear and user-friendly upper-level interface, integrating all devices into a unified monitoring interface to ensure system integrity and usability. According to the results of on-site testing, the system currently operates in a stable and reliable manner, with a concise and convenient user interface, comprehensive functionality, and effectively improves the operational efficiency of the external target experiments.
